The food has a very good flavor, taste and is delicious. Waitresses are very nice and friendly. Definitely going back!! 😋

Loved this place....made us feel welcome the minute we came in doors...first visit they just had pulled fresh cinnamon rolls out of oven,it was lunch for me but we took some back home for breakfast and it was like Christmas in April... Iloved there taco salad too...service was better than most places we been too! We'll be back

Excellent wait staff! It was fairly busy when we were there and only one sever. She did a great job of keeping us all happy. Food was very good too. They do not have a liquor license so don't expect a margarita, but it was lunch time anyway so that was no big deal. Only thing is that there may be a little bit of nickle and dime-ing for every little thing. Want to substitute chicken for beef, that'll be $2 for each item on your plate. Want sopapillas with your meal (a common courtesy here in New Mexico)? That'll cost you. How about Christmas, instead of just red or just green? Also an additional charge. That would be my only complaint about this restaurant, which is why I received four stars instead of five.

There wasn't really anything open by the time we got to truth or consequences, so we decided to go for Mexican than American style food. We got the combo one and I ordered it with the soft tortilla taco which by the way it was handmade and delicious. Husband order hot red chili sauce and I order the green. Husband gives his meal 5 stars, I give mine a 4 because I didn't know nor was it stated in the menu, that the green chile has cream of chicken sauce, therefore; it was not spicy enough even when I order it medium heat level. I recommend to get hot because the cream will cut the heat. But hey, if you are a fan of green chile served that way, you will enjoy it. Food and service was very good and the salsa is the bomb!

Food was good, not great, just ok. The service on the other hand was terrible. Our server checked on us maybe once and then dissapeared, we couldn't find her to cash out at the end of our meal, waited bit and finally went to the counter, saw she was out back smoking and chatting with a couple of other people.

Love this place. Best Mexican food in town. Their red chunky burrito is good. They also make great enchiladas and on Thursdays their beef stew is a mystery have..

Very mediocre food and service as well. Saw awards on a shelf that said they made the best posole in the area, and the waitress said they didn't make the dish even as a special. Wouldn't return if in the area.

Excellent breakfast served all day. Chorizo and taters were the best you can get, very well prepared.

Nobody working here was wearing masks when I went in a few days ago. The entire kitchen staff, front service people, servers, all waltzing around without a mask.The staff was friendly enough, but a blatant disregard for the health of their customers is absurd. Put your politics and beliefs aside, or whatever causes this place to not require it, and think about the health of your employees and customers.

Typical American Mexican food. Skirt steak was very tasty but tough. Service was good but food was slow coming. May have been because the prepare it fresh.

We stopped in unexpectedly with a party of 8. Family from out of town. The service was excellent. Friendly and well acquainted with the menu. The salsa was freshly made and had just the right amount of kick.I had the chunky meat burrito smothered in hot green chili sauce. The meat was flavorful and tender. The sauce was hot and full of that wonderful green chili taste New Mexicans love. I ordered Avocado on the side and was presented with a whole sliced Avocado. The meal was delicious. There was so much food I ended up taking home half of it.They also serve wonderful Farmers Brothers coffee, which complimented the meal beautifully. Everyone came away with smiles on their faces and satisfied tummies.

Small town Restaurant great tasting food.. I typically order the Chili con carne . The service is quick, The waitresses typically have a smile on their faces. They frequently refilled the drinks. Donna Montoya, is my very favorite waitress. The prices are reasonable.

You could tell they put out their full effort to make sure our meal was perfect. With the covid I try to support local business so they sure retired the favor. Context, I am half Mexican and my mom is the best cook in the world according to everyone we've ever had over for dinner. And I am a spoiled brat when it comes to my food. I mean I am super picky and a little rude sometimes. Five stars all the way

My wife and I were enjoying a stay at Truth or Consequences, NM, and went to EL FARO MEXICAN RESTAURANT for breakfast this morning. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. My wife ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Ham and Green Chile, and I ordered the New Mexican Omelet with Green Chile Sauce. The big Burrito was filled with egg, ham and cheese, and had a fantastic green chile sauce – that’s Special! My Omelet was full of savory beef brisket, eggs, and cheese, all smothered in that delicious green chile sauce, with home fried potatoes on the side. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Delightful ambience, with many local patrons. Service was excellent, prices very reasonable. Highly recommended.

More like El Barfo. Service was terrible (waitress just stood there never looking over and it was dead). Waitress also did not even acknowledge my son and just said, "eating for one?" Terrible food, not even Mexican. Tony's and Carmen's are much better choices.

The most delicious breakfasts are served all day! Yay!Choice of chile heats, mild, medium and hot. I picked medium but next time will go for the hot. The complimentary salsa n chips were appreciated and the salsa was really, really good. A great little diner type place!

First of all let me say the salsa is delicious. I had a chimichanga and a taco and my son had a taco plate, both were delicious as well. Our server was great too. All around it was a great experience.

I absolutely loved my stay in the town of Truth or Consequences and this little restaurant was a big contributor to that experience. The brew pub directly across the street has no food, but has great seating and encourages bringing in food. I walked across and ordered the taco's to go. Shockingly good taco's that took me back to the 70's. The shells were thick and crunchy, they had onions on them and were just a quality old fashioned taco. There were so good I came back the very next night and ordered them again. The staff is very friendly, the place is clean and the taco's are to die for!
